This is a music video set to Santa Claus is Coming to Town. The recording is of an old band of mine called The Groove Project and is from my first cd, recorded in 2015 and titled: The Groove Project Grooves Christmas. It’s all holiday music (mostly standards, a couple originals). The vocal was meant to be a scratch take, meaning we would go back and record the vocals again separately, after we got all the instruments recorded, to get everything perfect. This is pretty common with vocals. But Char’s vocal had so much energy and exuberance in this first take that we decided to keep it. I still enjoy hearing her on this cut. And sadly, my good friend Mike Stillman, who is playing alto sax on this cut, passed away this winter. I’m sure he is jamming with the angels and rockin’ their halos.
