This is the first song on my new CD, finished in Dec 2021. Joining me on this song are are Mike Grodner (drums), Dave Captein (bass), and Kit Garoutte (guitar). This song was written by me and has a Brazilian jazz samba feel, a la George Duke or Ivan Lins.
I wrote this song to capture that feeling of being away from home and missing it. Joining me are Mike Grodner (drums) and Dave Captein (bass). I really like the sound of Dave’s bass on this one.
I wrote and performed this song all by myself. The drums are sampled (sorry drummers) and everything else is played on a keyboard. The song takes one on a journey down the Mekong River in SE Asia, from the headwaters in Tibet to the delta in Vietnam and the South China Sea.
This song is an original composition, capturing the feeling of being loose and free in the tropics. Joining me on this one are Mike Grodner (drums) and Dave Captein (bass). Mike played a Mozambique rhythm on this one, which is really cool.
This song is all about the rhythm, a variation on a Afro-Cuban rhythm. It seems that every drummer I know likes to play it. Joining me on this one are Mike Grodner (drums) and Dave Captein (bass).
This song was inspired by the quail that dance and frolic in our backyard frequently. Listen carefully and you will hear them in the recording. Along with the quail, I am joined by Mike Grodner (drums) and Dave Captein (bass).
